You Tube on Television through DTH Cable in India.

Hii 'friends' Coming soon- You could enjoy you favourite YouTube channel on your television in India. Economic Times Report says, Google’s global director of platform partnerships, Francisco Varela said that the company is “in talks with direct-to-home cable providers to bring the service to televisions screens.”

Currently, YouTube in India is accessed mainly by the younger generation, thereby making at an excellent platform for advertisers who are exclusively targeting that age category. But with the service coming to DTH, YouTube will get a larger chunk of companies' digital marketing and advertising spend.

However Varela refused to elaborate on the tie-ups or name the DTH providers Google is in discussions with. As far YouTube in India is concerned, it had over 55 million unique visitors every month  and 40 percent of users were accessing the service on mobile phone.

Gautam Anand, YouTube Asia Pacific director for content partnerships had earlier told PTI that ,”The way people consume content has changed dramatically. We are building a platform for the next set of subscribers. We have partnerships with various broadcasters and content providers for movies and TV shows (both new and archived). ” Google also recently held a Comedy Week in India after launching one in Britain and US. Google had also revealed in a study that more than 70 percent of YouTube’s viewers in India are under the age of 35, while 72 percent have a college degree or higher, it added.
