• When Samsung announced two weeks ago that it had prototyped a new wireless technology that could transmit data far faster, many researchers were skeptical because the high-frequency signal is easily blocked and would be hard to work in moving handsets .But the 5G project’s leader in Korea now says tests at Samsung labs there showed the technology worked well when the device receiving data was moving at the speed of a runner, eight kilometers per hour. The testing also found that the novel wireless link could reach 200 meters even when there was no direct line-of-sight.
